Ability Assist is hiring Youth Residential Support Workers to work in the northeastern and western suburbs of Melbourne, supporting NDIS participants with complex needs. The role involves supporting young people in their homes and communities, promoting independence and well-being.

Key responsibilities include:

* Provide support and engagement to young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours
* Assist young people to develop independence and improve their quality of life
* Encourage participation in activities based on individual interests and goals
* Ensure the safety and well-being of young people
* Perform domestic duties, including meal preparation, cleaning, and personal care
* Transport clients to activities and services
* Attend team meetings

About you

* Due to current client needs, this role is open to female support workers only
* Flexibility to work various shifts across a 24/7 roster, including weekends
* Experience working with young people living with disability and presenting with complex needs and challenging behaviours
* Experience in residential care is preferred
* Ability to complete required DFFH and NDIS documentation and reporting
* Must meet all relevant legislative requirements to work in the sector

To be considered for these vacancies, you must have:

* A minimum of a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, or an equivalent qualification, in addition to the completion of all four mandatory units of competency for residential care workers.

The role will require the candidate to have:

* Employee Working with Children Check (employee) (or willingness to obtain).
* NDIS Worker Screening check (or willingness to obtain).
* First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
* Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Ability to safely transport clients. Use of personal vehicle may be required (km's reimbursed).
* Car Insurance.
