Job Summary
Department of Justice, Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) – a public sector agency providing security and rehabilitation services. This role involves collaborating with the TPS workforce to provide strategic and operational HR (Professional Standards) support, advice, and consultancy that enables TPS managers to achieve strategic and business goals.

Award/Classification: General Stream Band 6 – Tasmanian State Service Award
Salary: $112,990 – $127,715 per annum (negotiable within range based on experience; annual increases in accordance with award and union agreement)
Employment type: Permanent, full‐time (73.50 hours per fortnight)
Location: Risdon Prison, Risdon Vale, Hobart

Responsibilities
* Partner with TPS managers to build organisational capability and effectiveness, and to implement targeted people initiatives in response to the needs of the work area.
* Support delivery of the HR (Professional Standards) strategies, policies and programs by working with managers to effectively implement TPS and Agency initiatives.
* Provide authoritative advice to managers on HR, professional standards, and workplace relations matters, in collaboration with relevant members of the Department of Justice HR (Professional Standards) team.
* Coach and support leaders to manage the performance and development of their people.
* Proactively monitor, identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace issues, with a focus on prevention and early intervention to resolve matters such as workplace conflict.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders including HR team members, TPS managers and employees, and other relevant stakeholders or service providers.
* Conduct assessments, reviews, and investigations into staff‐related matters.
* Perform other assigned duties within the knowledge, skills and experience expected at the classification level.
