A great opportunity is available for an experienced Irrigation Technician to join our Parks & Infrastructure team. This plays a key part in maintaining high‑quality public open spaces, ensuring our irrigation systems operate efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
About the RoleThe Irrigation Technician supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems across council parks, reserves, and streetscapes. You’ll work both independently and as part of a small team, contributing to the delivery of well‑maintained community spaces. Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to irrigation systems.
* Assist with installation of new irrigation infrastructure.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot faults.
* Operate equipment and tools safely and effectively.
* Implement basic worksite traffic management when required.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
* Support broader parks maintenance activities as needed.
Experience Required
* Demonstrated experience across all aspects of irrigation operations.
* Experience implementing basic worksite traffic management.
Qualifications, Certificates & Licences
* Certificate III in Irrigation Technology; or Certified IAL Irrigation Operator/Installer; or equivalent industry experience.
* Current C‑Class Driver’s Licence.
* General Construction Safety “White Card.”
* Current Basic Traffic Management Certificate.
* Provide a First Aid certificate.
