About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic kitchen team at Cedar & Stone as a Sous Chef. As a full-time Sous Chef based in our Wellington Point location, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and contributing to the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations to ensure consistent, high-quality food delivery
- Supervising and coordinating the work of kitchen staff, including line cooks, to maintain efficient workflow and high standards
- Ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Contributing to the training and development of kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Participating in inventory management and ordering of supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels
- Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a positive customer experience
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role within a busy, high-volume restaurant or function operations
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu development, and kitchen management
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff
- Passion for creating innovative, delicious dishes and a commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients
- Food safety and hygiene certifications are essential
