Base Annual Salary $121,508 - $137,032 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
As a
Contracts Specialist (Clinical Trials)
, you will negotiate and execute non-standard contracts relating to clinical trial activities, supervise and support a team of Contracts Officers, and assist with complex issues and escalations.
You will collaborate closely with researchers across the University, leveraging your stakeholder engagement and communication skills to contribute to research excellence.
Your key responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Clinical Trials Contracts Manager
Managing the end-to-end process of drafting, negotiating, and executing complex clinical trial contracts, primarily using standard University templates
Acting as an escalation point for Contracts Officers on complex issues
Consulting with the Office of General Counsel regarding legal issues related to non-standard contracts
Liaising with researchers to gather relevant information and provide strategic guidance on clinical trial contracting
Applying legal advice to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legislation while supporting research objectives
Evaluating and reviewing team processes, leading continuous improvement initiatives
About you
Experience in reviewing and executing legal contracts is essential
A background in clinical trials and an interest in science, medical, or health research is desirable
Understanding of clinical trial regulations and experience negotiating research contracts within complex organizations
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize in a busy environment with strict deadlines
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide researchers on complex contractual matters
