Guide Dogs NSW/ACT (GDN) is searching for a
Salesforce Developer Lead
to spearhead the evolution of our Salesforce ecosystem and lead a talented internal Salesforce Delivery Team. This role is perfect for a hands-on technical leader who thrives on building impactful solutions and wants their work to contribute to real community outcomes.
In this role you'll shape and deliver technology solutions that enhance client engagement, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen organisational performance.
About the Role
As the Salesforce Developer Lead, you will own the end-to-end Salesforce delivery lifecycle—from discovery and design, through development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. You'll drive platform enhancements and integrations, lead major programs of work, and ensure best practice across architecture, security, and governance.
You'll guide and mentor a passionate in-house Salesforce team, supported by a Salesforce Customer Success Manager and access to unlimited instructor-led virtual Salesforce Trailhead Academy classes.

Key Accountabilities
Salesforce Platform Ownership
* Lead the design, development and deployment of custom Salesforce applications (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components).
* Prioritise and manage the Salesforce backlog aligned to business needs and IT strategy.
* Maintain strong development standards across testing, documentation and version control.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
* Lead, mentor and grow the Salesforce Delivery Team, fostering a culture of excellence and learning.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers and IT teams to translate business needs into effective Salesforce solutions.
* Conduct code reviews and technical sessions to ensure quality and scalability.
Solution Design & Integration
* Architect and implement integrations with enterprise systems using APIs and web services.
* Ensure data quality, integrity and security across platforms.
* Champion Salesforce best practices and emerging technologies.
Continuous Improvement
* Manage incremental enhancements based on user feedback and evolving requirements.
* Stay across Salesforce releases and recommend relevant new capabilities.
* Support optimisation, performance tuning and user experience improvements.
Governance & Documentation
* Ensure alignment with GDN's security, compliance and data protection standards.
* Maintain accurate technical documentation and release notes.
* Enforce configuration, release and change management processes.
About You
You're a proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused leader who enjoys mentoring teams and delivering high-quality, scalable Salesforce solutions. You think strategically, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, and are passionate about continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
* 5+ years' experience developing and customising Salesforce applications.
* Proven experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
* Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture including Lightning, Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
* Experience designing and implementing complex API integrations.
* Proficient in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, SOQL and modern web technologies.
* Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD and agile methodologies.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Experience with NFP sector, NPSP or NPC (desirable).
Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
* Salesforce certifications (PD I/II, Architect, Admin) highly regarded.
* Experience with Community Cloud and CI/CD tools an advantage.
