About the role
Our Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for assisting the wider finance team in managing the AVID Property Group and associated entities accounting, tax obligations, statutory & management reporting and corporate budgeting matters.
In this role you will:
* Preparation of half year and annual audited Annual Reports
* Preparation of income tax returns and tax provision calculations
* Preparation of BAS & monthly management accounts
* Ensure the integrity of taxation records & compliance with relevant taxation provisions including Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Income Tax and assist with tax lodgement requirements.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to assist with the preparation of tax advice within the business leveraging off external advisors.
* Ensure the integrity of financial data to meet reporting and audit requirements.
* Process month-end journals and ensure month end journals which require approvals are reviewed and posted on time
* Support with the identification and communication of risk issues to ensure that material risks across the organisation are monitored, identified, documented, measured and mitigated
* Provide support and training to internal customers with the interpretation of financial data, policies and procedures
Qualifications
* Be degree qualified in a Finance or related discipline
* Have a CA/CPA qualification (desirable but not required)
* Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in general accounting, including more than 2 years experience in income tax and GST
* Have experience in the Property industry (desirable but not required)
