Melbourne Culinary Group located in Melbourne VIC 3000 is looking for a Pastrycook to join their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for:
* Assist pastry chefs with preparation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods
* Demonstrate a range of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and finishing
* Minimise wastage through careful portioning and ingredient control
* Train junior pastry staff on plating, baking methods, and presentation standards
* Collaborate with the head chef and management to plan and update dessert menus
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed
* Supervise pastry kitchen staff and coordinate daily tasks
* Liaise with kitchen and front-of‐house staff to ensure smooth service
* Prepare, bake, and finish items such as cakes, pastries, breads, and desserts
* Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labelled, and rotated
* Manage pastry section operations, including stock control, ordering, and scheduling
About you:
* At least 1 year of experience as a Pastrycook
* Strong pastry and baking skills, with the ability to manage kitchen operations
* Ability to supervise pastry staff, manage workflow, and coordinate orders efficiently
* Strong creativity in developing desserts and supporting the pastry team during service
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with kitchen and front‐of‐house teams
