About Us

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.

Why this role matters

Doorways is often the first-place people turn when they are facing financial hardship, housing instability or social isolation. It is a space where people are welcomed without judgement and supported with dignity, compassion and practical help. For many, it is the beginning of a pathway out of crisis and toward stability. As a Case Worker, you walk alongside people who are experiencing poverty, homelessness or the risk of homelessness. You help them navigate immediate challenges, strengthen their capacity and access the supports they need to move forward. Your presence can be the steadying force that helps someone feel heard, respected and hopeful again. If you are motivated by purpose and want to make a meaningful difference in a regional community, this role offers the opportunity to support people at some of the most important moments in their lives.

Your work will include intake and assessment, developing case plans with clients, providing early intervention support and connecting people with emergency relief and other community services.
