You will be required to work on a rotating roster 24x7, 365 days a year, with the opportunity to earn an additional salary for overnight and weekend shifts.
Your day in the life of a Security Operations Specialist at Optus
* Analyse complex cases involving a pattern of security events from SIEM, and other security data sources. Splunk experience is preferred.
* Develop and tune use cases, alerts, reports, custom dashboards and further enhancements.
* Create, improve, and document processes for the management and monitoring of security solutions.
* Work with technical teams on log onboarding. Baseline and improve threat detection thresholds and improve detection methods.
* Configure, manage, and upgrade Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) platforms. Involve in the operational support of the environment to ensure platform availability.
Your skills to pay the bills
* Advanced Knowledge and experience of SIEM (Splunk) Technologies (Logging, monitoring, triage, reporting of Security alerts and incidents, and processes) is a must.
* Hands-on experience with the day-to-day security operations using various security technologies such as Tenable, Splunk, Symantec endpoint protection, Firepower IPS/IDS or similar technologies.
* Experience as an Information Security Specialist or Analyst in Security operations, especially in security monitoring and network security domains.
* You must be an Australian citizen and be eligible for Federal Government security clearance.
