The Team
The Nutrition and Dietetics department at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is a dynamic and exciting team, comprising of dietetic assistants, early-career dietitians and dietitians with significant experience and expertise. RHH is Tasmania's largest tertiary hospital and supports Tasmanians through acute, subacute and community services. Dietitians work closely with the broader multidisciplinary team, focusing on delivering excellence in healthcare through tailored nutrition support to achieve improved outcomes for the Tasmanian community. This role is part of the Renal Unit in Southern Tasmania. Renal services include education for patients, families and carers on living with kidney disease, support for treatment of kidney disease including haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, and support pre‐and post‐transplant.
The Role
The role is a senior dietitian within the Nutrition and Dietetics department atHH, working as part of the Renal Unit. The dietitian will provide specialised medical nutrition therapy to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), those on dialysis, and patients pre‐and post‐transplant, and will support patients admitted at Royal Hobart Hospital. You will need
* Significant postgraduate experience with demonstrated skill, insight and/or postgraduate qualifications relevant to the allocated specialist area.
* Highly developed decision‐making skills, including the ability to work without direct supervision to set own work priorities and deal with competing demands.
* Proven ability to take initiative in developing the service, in undertaking research and quality improvement activities, and in taking a leadership role when required.

Details of appointment
Permanent part‐time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
For a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time, part‐time and casual vacancies.
Salary
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. of 2022

* Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Dietitians Australia or overseas qualified dietitians will be required to complete Dietetic Skills Recognition (DSR) through Dietitians Australia.
* Eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia.
* Eligible to join the Accredited Practising Dietitian Program.
* Current Working with Children Registration.
* Full member of Dietitians Australia.
