As the Superannuation Specialist you take full ownership of the firm's Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) function.
You will direct workflow and act as the resident technical authority on superannuation legislation and compliance, and ensure delivery of an efficient, well controlled service that meets regulatory, client and internal quality standards.
With offices in Shepparton, Geelong, Melbourne and Cobram, at PTP we offer the flexibility to work from any of our offices, your home, or a blend of both – we're set up for genuine flexibility and will tailor to suit the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end superannuation processing tasks, including contributions, rollovers, benefit payments, and compliance reporting.
Provide technical support and subject matter expertise on superannuation regulations, particularly in relation to SMSFs and employer obligations.
Prepare and review documentation for lodgements, compliance checks, and audits (e.g., TBARs, pension commencements, minimum pension reviews).
Collaborate with accountants, auditors, and compliance teams to ensure seamless data flow and process integrity.
Monitor regulatory developments from the ATO, ASIC, and Treasury, and contribute to internal updates and process enhancements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across superannuation platforms (BGL 360).
Assist with year-end processing and fund reviews, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
Support internal teams with client file reviews, fund set-ups, restructures, and document collation.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in superannuation administration, technical services, or fund operations.
Deep understanding of Australian superannuation legislation, with a focus on compliance and reporting obligations.
Experience working with SMSFs, including handling contributions, pensions, and member balances.
Familiarity with systems such as BGL 360, Class Super or similar administration platforms.
Strong attention to detail, process-orientation, and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information.
Strong organisational and documentation skills.
High level of compliance awareness and risk management.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret regulatory updates.
Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
