About The Position
We're on the hunt for an experienced Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our About Smiles network in Sydney on a casual basis. In this dual role, you will support our dental team by assisting with a variety of treatments while also providing a welcoming and professional front‐of‐house experience for our patients. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day‐to‐day running of the practice, balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast‐paced environment. Key Responsibilities
* Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
* Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
* Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well‐stocked and organised.
* Patient Education: Provide patients with post‐operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
* Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.
* Administrative Support: Handle phone calls, emails, and inquiries, providing information about treatments and addressing patient concerns or complaints.
* Billing and Insurance: Process payments, manage billing inquiries, and assist patients with payment plans and verification.

What Do You Need To Succeed
* Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
* A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast‐paced environment
* Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
* Attention to detail
