Job Overview
Plan A Technologies is looking for a highly skilled
Embedded C++ Software Engineer
to design and develop solutions on Linux based proprietary hardware platforms. You will be solely responsible for understanding requirements and translating them into an existing solution stack. You must have experience working with a diverse range of peripherals and be highly skilled in debugging real time environments. The ideal candidate will have exposure developing across or layers of the embedded landscape.
Please note:
you must have at least 7+ years of hands-on experience using C++ in an embedded environment to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
* Design modular, maintainable, and efficient C++ code for embedded systems.
* Interface with various peripherals using serial based means such as USB connected devices.
* Profile and optimize code for CPU utilization and memory footprint.
* Integrate new application features into an existing application stack based on Embedded Linux
Experience
* BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
* 7+ years in software engineering with a primary focus on embedded systems.
* 7+ years of hands-on experience using C++ in a production embedded environment.
* Deep understanding of real time systems and debugging methods.
* Experience with Embedded C++ Core Guidelines (avoiding RTTI/exceptions where necessary).
* Working on independent subsystems that connect and communicate with other systems
* Knowledge of serial based protocol converters is desired.
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
* Initiative to work standalone with minimal supervision.
