A highly skilled Mechanical Engineer is required to deliver day-to-day systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle of Defence capability projects.
The successful candidate will operate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that engineering solutions meet operational requirements, safety standards and sustainment objectives in accordance with the Engineering Management System (EMS).
The key responsibilities of this role include undertaking requirements engineering, leading or contributing to preliminary and detailed design phases of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), performing technical investigations, drafting Statements of Work for acquisition activities, and implementing the system safety program.
Additionally, the successful candidate will plan and execute Verification and Validation (V&V) activities, develop or contribute to service requirements definition, identify supply items, conduct Logistics Support Analysis, provide engineering support, and participate in SQEP reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications
 * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
 * Australian Citizenship.
 * Ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.
 * Experience in a Department of Defence, preferably in Maritime Domain.
 * Highly developed organisational and analytical skills.
 * Knowledge of Design, Technical Investigation and V&V.
 * Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships through high level communication skills.

This position is based in Defence Plaza Sydney and requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
