About The Role
The Clinical Nurse provides expert clinical leadership and care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit through the application of the principles of best practice, education, leadership and portfolio management.
The Clinical Nurse provides contemporary clinical leadership and care within mental health environment supporting the general function through the application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the application and role modelling of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).
The Clinical Nurse is accountable for undertaking and coordinating advanced holistic patient care needs inclusive of consumer requirements in accessing, planning, implementation and evaluation within a multidisciplinary service and provide ethical decision making in the achievement of recovery-oriented goals.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Clinical Knowledge
* Advanced leadership and clinical skills in the area of mental health nursing and proactively manages own continuous learning and development.
* Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of relevant applications, including: Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application (CIMHA) and RiskMan.
Patient Focus
* Builds good rapport with consumers and effectively prioritises and plans own time to deliver a flexible and holistic consumer care service within designated timeframes.
* Takes responsibility and provides leadership and support for Structured Day Programs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Team Focus
* Builds and maintains strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others.
Continuous Improvement
* Demonstrates a strong understanding of the relevant standards and processes and actively identifies areas for improvement, planning and acting to resolve issues with an awareness of community needs.
Work and Professional Values
* Demonstrated a strong understanding of the relevant standards and processes and actively identifies areas for improvement, planning and acting to resolve issues with an awareness of community needs.
Mandatory Requirements
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
