Your new company Are you an experienced FOI specialist looking for a flexible short‑term contract? This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Australia's most trusted national institutions and support its statutory Freedom of Information (FOI) function.
Hays is partnering with a highly regarded Media organisation to recruit a FOI Coordinator for an initial 3-month assignment, working 3–4 days per week. This role offers full flexibility, work from anywhere in Australia. However, Sydney-based is highly desirable.
Your new role Reporting to the Senior FOI Officer, you will play a key role in administering and coordinating the organisation's FOI processes in line with the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth).
You will:
Manage the administration of FOI requests end to end, including file creation, document tracking, and correspondence managementCoordinate document searches, retrievals and statutory timeframesPrepare, review, and organise FOI documentation, including redactions as directedMaintain FOI request databases, deadlines, and reporting obligationsSupport compliance requirements such as the Disclosure Log and Information Publication Scheme (IPS)Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear, timely, and accurate communicationAssist with FOI training, enquiries, and general administrative dutiesCollaborate with the FOI team and broader organisation to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
