What You'll Be Doing
As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you'll ensure the smooth operation of all HVAC-R systems and equipment through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.
Your work will directly support clinical services and patient care.
Perform reactive and planned maintenance on HVAC-R systems, plant, and equipment
Ensure compliance with statutory, legislative, and code requirements
Respond to work requests promptly using AFM Online, prioritising safety and efficiency
Participate in after-hours emergency maintenance and assist across WSLHD facilities
Provide technical advice and support for new installations, inspections, and commissioning

Essential Criteria
Drivers Unrestricted licence
Tertiary qualification in HVAC-R trade
Electrical Tradesperson Level 1: completed apprenticeship and/or holds relevant trade certificate or equivalent
Electrical Tradesperson Level 2: 120 hours of approved courses completed
Electrical Tradesperson Level 3: 240 hours of approved courses completed
Electrical Tradesperson Level 4: 360 hours of approved courses completed
Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualification in HVAC-R trade with a tradesperson's certificate of competency.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and successfully undertake work in a busy, dynamic role with a minimum of supervision.
This position will require 12-hour shift coverage in the Building Maintenance Centre (BMC) on a rotating roster as and when required.
This also extends to assisting all facilities in the western Sydney Local Health District as requested.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of a wide range of HVAC-R systems, processes and automated equipment, and ability to fault find and carry out repairs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Proven HVAC-R experience in a maintenance environment, experience with related plant and superior diagnostics abilities.
Demonstrated knowledge of software programs (eg: Word, Excel, Outlook).
The ability to maintain stock and workflow in a HVAC-R workshop.
