About the company:
Our client, a State Government organisation, is seeking an AO6 Business Analyst for a casual full-time position until the 27th of February 2026, with potential for extension.
As a Business Analyst, you will be part of the Digital Solutions and Information team that is responsible for leading the roll out of new systems and initiatives, such as the data migration of its key databases, the uplift of key applications, continuing the enhancements of the Commercial and Recreational fishing Apps and supporting the implementation of Independent Onboard Monitoring.
Additionally, they provide support to cross-directorate systems, such as the compliance management system and Fish Mode application. The key project this position will be working on is the migration of Fishery Queensland key datasets to Microsoft Fabric.
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
* Document business requirements and specifications, facilitate design workshops, and develop test plans to support the modernisation and migration of key databases into Microsoft Fabric
* Support and help coordinate the delivery of a specialised technical solutions, ensuring it meets organisational needs
* Engage with all stakeholders identified through the project to ensure business requirements are aligned and fit for purpose
* Assist with the collection and analysis of "As-Is" and "To-Be" business process models using approved methods and tools
* Organise and maintain all required documentation throughout the development, review and approval process
* Assist with broader stakeholder engagement contributing to testing and training material
Essential requirements for this role:
* Knowledge and experience in the Information Technology industry consistent with the services requested above
* Experience in business analysis activities within projects or programs
* The successful candidate should be a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and results-oriented person with good interpersonal and team skills.
Highly desirable to this role are:
* A degree majoring in Information Technology from a recognised institution
* Business analysis experience
* Experience working with government organisations (preferable but not mandatory)
