Located in the Wheatbelt Region, Narrogin lies near the Dryandra Woodland, a valuable nature conservation area. The region is popular with nature lovers for its diverse flora and fauna, walking trails and guided nocturnal tours of the Barna Mia animal sanctuary.
We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Operations Officer to join our team.
Under the immediate supervision of the Operations Officer, you will:
* Assist with the implementation of projects to protect conservation and heritage values on conservation reserves and other crown land remnant reserves in the Wheatbelt Region.
* Assist with the implementation of other management actions to protect habitat and other assets on these reserves and crown land.
* Participate in the promotion of wildlife conservation and its value to the rural community.
The position will operate across all the services within the Region depending upon the development program engaged in and the annual works program.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria, including where possible the desirable criterion. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
* Some knowledge (Level 1) and experience (Level 2) in working in natural land management or a closely related field or a related technical area, with a preference for some experience in conservation and parks and visitor services and an understanding of agricultural issues in the Wheatbelt.
* Broad understanding of the issues involved in planning and implementing works programs.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently; show a high level of self-motivation, and willingness to travel, work away from home and camp when required.
