Heavy Vehicle Fleet Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Heavy Vehicle Fleet Coordinator. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our heavy vehicle fleet, while also optimizing its use, cost, and performance.
About the Role
This position is responsible for fostering a strong vehicle safety culture and ensuring compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL). The coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders to implement policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy and integrity of our heavy vehicle fleet databases.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure full compliance to Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) through procurement, maintenance, replacement programs, CoR audits, truck modifications / and end of life decommissioning* Regularly review and maintain vehicle cranes to ensure 100% compliance to Chain of Responsibility and safe work practices* Coordinate training for heavy vehicle telematics systems to ensure 100% compliance to Chain of Responsibility (CoR)* Conduct annual fleet reviews to identify possible rationalization and replacement schedules* Manage the annual heavy vehicle fleet registration process to meet end user and state transport authorities requirements* Analyze monthly fleet data and generate management reports as required for heavy vehicles* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of heavy vehicle fleet databases* Develop and administer policies and procedures related to the heavy vehicle fleet, human resources, and occupational health and safety* React immediately to any heavy vehicle safety notices from regulatory authorities* Provide support to the Fleet Manager as needed and undertake projects as assigned
What We're Looking For:
* A minimum MR license with the ability to qualify for HR if required* Mechanical Trade Qualifications with 5 years' experience working with a large fleet of heavy vehicles in a multi-site environment* Knowledge of truck cranes (VLC's) and applications* Previous experience in CoR, HVNL management and compliance* Previous experience in Telematics and Fleet systems* Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization* Ability to work as part of a small team* Ability to fully understand, promote, and monitor compliance of policy and procedure* Capacity to interpret and discuss vehicle engineering principles and coordinate specialized vehicle building, repairs, and ongoing management with vehicle builders and maintainers
