Yass Soldiers Club is a proud and growing community venue located in the heart of Yass, NSW. With a busy bistro, café and expanding function and event offering, the Club is focused on delivering outstanding food, beverage and event experiences for our members and guests.
As the Club continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Functions & Bistro Manager to take ownership of our functions and events while also supporting the management of the Club's bistro operations when required.
This is a key leadership role within the venue and an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both event coordination and hospitality management.
Key Responsibilities
Functions & Events
• Manage and coordinate all aspects of Club functions and events from enquiry to execution
• Liaise with clients to plan weddings, corporate events, celebrations and community functions
• Coordinate menus, room layouts, staffing and service delivery
• Ensure functions run smoothly and exceed guest expectations
• Build relationships with clients and actively drive new function business for the Club
• Maintain accurate event schedules and communication with the kitchen and operations teams
Bistro Operations
• Assist in managing day-to-day bistro operations when required
• Lead and support front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional service
• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service
• Assist with rostering, service standards and operational oversight
About You
• Proven experience in functions/events management within hospitality
• Experience in restaurant, bistro, club or hotel operations
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Ability to manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A proactive attitude with the ability to drive and grow function business
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
Requirements
• Minimum 3+ years hospitality management or events experience
• Current RSA and RCG (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when required
