We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Workshop Operations Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities in our workshop, coordinating resources, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing job allocation and flow processes, including scheduling and labor allocation in servicing, repair, and maintenance of vehicles and plant machinery. Additionally, they should be able to manage staff productivity and output, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are completed on time.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ordering and tracking parts and consumables while maintaining cost-effective job costing
* Identifying and implementing improvements in processes, procedures, or systems
* Mentoring and training apprentices/tradespersons to enhance work quality
* Conducting daily prestart activities, undertaking HSEQ inspections, and delivering toolbox talks
* Ensuring quality control of services and repairs across the workshop
* Maintaining accurate records of workshop activities
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* At least 5 years' experience as a diesel fitter
* 3+ years' experience in a leading hand or management position
* Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent
* Strong leadership skills and ability to influence work culture
