As the Safety & Wellbeing Specialist, you will manage relationships and onsite safety, gain insights into the workplace environment, employee experience and leadership capability from a safety and wellbeing perspective.
This is a Full-Time, site-based position at the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre.
Provide advice to leaders and their teams ensuring full understanding of workplace health and safety common law, legislative and policy duties responsibilities and obligations, and provide appropriate information and resources.
Support the Director, People Safety & Wellbeing in developing and providing strategic direction, advice and support on WHS policies, operational standards, guidelines and planning in consultation with Divisions to embed and promote a safety and health‐conscious culture.
In conjunction with the Director, People Safety & Wellbeing, drive the development of systems, standards and guidelines on hazard and risk management, particularly complex, high‐risk issues that cannot be resolved at an operational level, to ensure the Company's risk exposure is minimised.
Contribute to the implementation of frameworks, initiatives and processes across the Company which underpin the effective management of incidents and injuries in the workplace and rehabilitation of injured workers consistent with our Safety Management Framework.
Engage frontline staff and managers to embed our Safety Management Framework and help to build a positive safety culture.
To be successful:
Previous experience in a similar safety role, including implementation of programs and policies to ensure legislative compliance and the development of a safety culture.
Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including influencing, consulting, and liaising skills across all levels of an organisation.
Hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
Proven rights to work in Australia.
