Gold Coast Health is seeking two qualified Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our Public Health Unit temporary full-time role (up to 31 March 2027). What you'll be doing
As a Senior Environmental Health Officer, you will:
* Mentor junior staff and support workforce development
* Conduct investigations under public health legislation and recommend enforcement actions
* Respond to public health incidents, disasters, and disease outbreaks
* Provide expert advice and prepare detailed reports on complex health issues
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement public health initiatives

Requirements for the role
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health (accredited by Environmental Health Australia or deemed eligible by the QLD Health Environmental Health Officer Appointments Review Committee)
* Have or be willing to complete a Certificate IV in Government Investigations
* Be willing to complete Queensland Health Authorised Officer training
* Current driver's licence and ability to operate a government vehicle
* Must be physically fit as the role involves lifting and carrying duties
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (paid by GCH)

Salary
* Temporary full time (two positions, up to 18 months with possibility of extension)
* Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum
