This isn’t a “keep things ticking over” Operations Manager role.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you will:
* Take ownership of operational performance across the business
* Improve labour utilisation, job profitability, and workflow efficiency
* Reduce reworks and build systems that actually stick
* Lead Project Managers, team leaders, and field crews
* Drive accountability, communication, and standards across all teams

What You’ll Be Responsible For
This is a commercial and leadership-driven role. You will:
* Analyse performance, workflows, and capacity to improve efficiency
* Drive labour utilisation and protect job margins
* Implement systems, processes, and QA standards
* Lead, coach, and hold team leaders and Project Managers accountable
* Improve communication across field and office teams
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
* Strengthen client and supplier relationships
In short: you make the business run better.
Key selection criteria
1. Proven experience in an Operations Manager or senior leadership role in construction/trades. (** Specifically plumbing a bonus).
* Strong understanding of job profitability, labour efficiency, and cost control
* A track record of improving systems and performance—not just maintaining them
* Experience leading multiple teams or managers
* The ability to have tough conversations and follow through
