Your New Role And Responsibilities
As a senior member of our geospatial software engineering team, you will provide innovative and high‑value solutions to a range of complex spatial and technical challenges for our customers. You will work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, integration, and testing, and will frequently apply a broad range of tools and modern geospatial technologies to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Lead geospatial software prototyping and technical investigations to define optimal development approaches.
* Provide technical leadership across design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of geospatial solutions.
* Analyse and refine complex functional and non‑functional requirements with engineers and stakeholders.
* Design and build custom geospatial applications, services, ESRI/ArcGIS integrations, and JavaScript‑based user interfaces.
* Architect and implement geospatial data ingestion, transformation, and processing workflows.
* Ensure software quality and continuous improvement through best practices, secure development, and mentoring junior engineers.
What You’ll Bring To Make An Impact
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Geospatial Science, or equivalent experience aligned to a senior engineering role.
* Proven experience in a senior geospatial software engineering position within engineering or project environments.
* Extensive expertise in ESRI technologies (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro) and custom geospatial application development (JavaScript).
* Strong experience designing and implementing geospatial data engineering and ETL workflows.
* Experience integrating open‑source GIS tools, external systems (e.g., REST APIs), and modern CI/CD practices.
* Proficiency with Agile methodologies, containerisation (e.g., Docker), and development tools such as Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
