**About the Research Office**
The Research Office is a central unit within the portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and provides support for research activities across UTS in partnership with the faculty research offices and other support units, including identifying and accessing research funding, contracts, ethics and integrity, post-award, research risk management, IP management, commercialisation, industry partnerships and research data intelligence.
**About the Role**
The Executive Manager, Research Stewardship is a newly established role that will lead the following functions: research integrity and ethics, international business assurance and the assessment and management of research risk. A particular focus will be on a whole of university approach enabling and supporting the responsible conduct of research (ethics and integrity) and responsible research activities (legal and regulatory compliance; risk and benefit assessment).
Reporting to the Director Research Office, and as part of the Research Office executive team, you will lead work closely with peer teams across the Research Office and Faculties.
**Day to day you will**:
- Manage the Research Office Faculty Research Stewardship team
- Work closely with the Director and other Executive Managers in the Research Office to ensure a seamless integration of process and effort across the office
- Lead the development and implementation of research stewardship processes, practices and education, cultural change and awareness programs
- Build and enhance the research culture with respect to research stewardship and a risk/benefit framework to undertaking, supporting and enabling research
- Be the primary external face for foreign interference
- Manage the Team budget and human resources requirements

- have strategic planning and research skills and a capacity for systematic thinking and ability to analyse and synthesis complex information and situations

- have experience managing a high performing team
- have demonstrated expertise in building highly effective working relationships with research active academics and with external stakeholders, including an ability to exercise initiative, tact and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive and confidential matters

**Remuneration**
**A competitive and comprehensive remuneration package will be offered. This role is classified as an SSG1 role.**
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
