Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join a high-volume Drainage Development Assessment team within a prominent Local Government Council in Western Sydney. This role is critical in assessing drainage and flooding referrals for Development Applications (DAs), ensuring all technical specifications meet Council standards and legislative requirements.

Responsibilities
* Technical Analysis: Assess development application referrals specifically focused on drainage and flooding to meet strict KPIs.
* System Management: Utilise Technology 1, CM9, and GIS to monitor, record, and action all incoming DA referrals.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes with internal departments and external developers/consultants.
* Administrative Accuracy: Ensure all record-keeping complies with Council's Management procedures with high attention to detail.
* Process Contribution: Provide input into engineering specifications and ongoing assessment processes.
Requirements
* Qualifications: A Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering.
* Council Experience: Demonstrated experience assessing DAs within a NSW Local Government environment.
* Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Technology 1, CM9, and GIS are essential for this high-workload environment.
* Communication: Proven ability to resolve conflict and negotiate outcomes neutrally and effectively.
* Productivity: The ability to work autonomously and manage a high workload with minimal supervision.
Highly Desirable
* Direct experience using the NSW Government Planning Portal.
* Working knowledge of the Local Government Act and regional Development Control Plans (DCP).
