Child Psychiatrist Role in Community Health
A Child Psychiatrist will join a community health service, providing psychiatric expertise to support early intervention for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical consultation and support services to Community Paediatricians, Child and Family Health Nurses, and Allied Health professionals who assess and manage children with developmental-behavioural and social-emotional issues.
* Undertake joint consultations and assessments as indicated.
* Report to the Clinical Director and be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in daily clinical operations, including defining consultation criteria, joint consultation processes, attendance at team meetings, and scheduling/leave approvals.
* Provide professional guidance and supervision for managing complex cases, conduct regular case supervision and mentoring, and support teaching, training, research, quality improvement activities.
* Ensure coordinated mental health and community paediatric service delivery to children, young people, and families, providing safe and appropriate care for developmental and mental health needs.
