We nurture and empower each other!You will join a team of 10 in the Design team all creating sparkle and magic across our product range.The Junior Product Designer is a new role for Kulani Kinis playing a key support role to the Senior Design team across all aspects of the design process - creating technical drawings, garment measuring and production tasks, maintaining design related files and product trackers and contributing to fresh ideas and insights!Your day to day includes:Design Support & Concept Development - Assisting in Design Creation, Mood Boards & Research, Concept IdeationTechnical Drawings & CAD Work, assisting in size specification.Creating CAD Development: Develop technical drawings used to communicate garment construction, shapes, details, and proportions to manufacturers.Measurement: Assist in creating size specifications and measurement of samples for production sizing and fit as well as quality testing.Sample Development - working with suppliers and attending fit sessions + revisionsFabric & Trim Sourcing - Help source and research fabrics, trims, and other materials. Material Costing: Check pricing assist in calculating the costs of materials.Organising Design Archives: Help organize and maintain the design department's archives, keeping track of sketches, fabrics, samples, and design revisionProduction & Order Tracking: Assist in tracking orders for fabrics, materials, and trimsPreparation for Presentations: Help prepare presentations and design decks for internal meetings.General Administrative Tasks: such as scheduling meetings, organizing design files, and communicating with suppliers upkeep and maintaining style arcade and design platforms/systems.To be successful you will need:At least 3 years of experience in a similar roleDesign Education BackgroundDesign Software Proficiency: Knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools to create technical drawings, sketches, and mood boards.Fashion Knowledge: Strong understanding of fashion trends, garment construction, textiles, and pattern making.Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to every detail of the design, from sketching to fabric selection and fittings.Creative Thinking: Ability to think creatively and contribute original ideas to the design process.Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate design ideas clearly and collaborate with different teams.Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.Understanding of Fabrics and Materials: Basic knowledge of textiles, trims, and materials, and how they impact design and production.Seniority levelNot ApplicableEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionDesignIndustriesRetail
