This apprenticeship opportunity will allow you to build on your experience while working towards the successful completion of your MEM***** Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade qualification, paving the way to becoming a fully qualified tradesperson.
Job Details
In this role, you will work under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in metal fabrication and welding while supporting qualified tradespeople.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare metal components using cutting, grinding, and basic fabrication techniques
Assist with welding tasks, including TIG and MIG welding, under supervision
Support experienced tradespeople in the assembly, fitting, and repair of metal structures
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and basic workshop machinery safely and efficiently
Follow all workshop safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean and organised workspace
Act in accordance with all action plans and systems designed to protect the health and safety of employees, contractors, visitors, and volunteers
Report any defects in plant and machinery to the Workshop Supervisor for attention
Undertake other relevant duties as required

About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated apprentice with a strong interest in the engineering trade and a desire to further develop their skills.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
The ability to adapt quickly to new situations
A genuine desire to learn welding and other engineering trade skills
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
A valid manual driver's licence
A current Construction White Card
Strong safety awareness and commitment to workplace health and safety
A self-motivated, proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
Dependability, reliability, and a solid work ethic
The ability to follow instructions accurately and show initiative when required
Mechanical aptitude and an interest in boilermaking
Qualifications and Experience
Completion of Year 12 (Senior Certificate)
Certificate I or II in Engineering or a related field (advantageous)
Previous experience or work placement in engineering, manufacturing, or similar environments (desirable)
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, and police check
