We are seeking multiple Cyber Security Engineers / Platform Specialists to join our team and support our client's Cyber Security and Networks function. This role is critical in sustaining and uplifting the security environment while ensuring the stability of ICT systems that underpin Australia's diplomatic, operational, and cyber resilience objectives.
About The Role:
Working directly with the client, you will provide specialist technical support and leadership across a range of cyber security infrastructure and platforms. This includes Application Control, Vulnerability Management, Linux Infrastructure, Privileged Access Management, and PKI. You'll play a key role in current and upcoming projects aimed at stabilising and uplifting the client's cyber posture, while maintaining mission-critical systems.
These positions are Canberra-based, with hybrid arrangements available at the client's discretion. Remote or interstate candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis, with preference given to Canberra-based candidates.
Who You Are:
- Experienced Cyber Security Engineer or Platform Specialist with at least 5 years in large-scale ICT or government environments.
- Able to navigate both operational sustainment and strategic uplift programs.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to provide technical leadership and translate complex issues into clear solutions.
- A strong collaborator who thrives in multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist support across cyber platforms including Application Control, Vulnerability Scanning, Linux Infrastructure, Privileged Access Management, and PKI
- Contribute to ongoing cyber uplift initiatives while ensuring sustainment of critical operational systems
- Deliver technical insights and recommendations across cyber, project, and operational teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support implementation of secure, fit-for-purpose solutions.
Essential Criteria:
To be successful, you will bring demonstrated expertise in two or more of the following:
1. Linux / RHEL / RedHat Satellite / IDM / FA Policy D
2. Application Control (Carbon Black / WDAC)
3. Vulnerability Management (Tenable, RunZero)
4. Privileged Access Management (MFA, Delinea Secret Server, EntraID)
5. Active Directory Certificate Services (PKI)
6. Microsoft EntraID Cloud Sync.
Desirable Experience
- EntraID Entitlement Management and Lifecycle Management
- Nutanix AOS / AHV + Hybrid AOS/ESXi / Prism Central
- Microsoft Windows Server Platform and patching
- VMware Virtualisation, Citrix, Powershell Scripting, Ansible, and EntraID Automation
- Industry certifications across these platforms or cyber domains will be viewed favourably.
