Role Highlights
Reporting to the Head of Finance – Multi Class Sustainment, the Finance Manager – Rates & Pricing will take ownership of the development of labour and overhead budgets and rates for ASC. This newly created position offers the chance to establish processes and ensure costs are allocated appropriately and recovered through programs. The role provides scope to partner closely with senior leaders and the Defence customer on high-value programs, while also shaping continuous improvement across systems and processes.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development of ASC's labour and overhead budgets and rate setting processes, ensuring costs are allocated accurately and recovered through major programs
- Take ownership of significant cost pools and oversee monthly allocations, variance analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and EACs
- Provide strategic financial advice, reporting and analysis to senior leaders and program managers
- Lead annual rate reviews and approvals, including customer true-ups
- Partner with stakeholders across support functions and programs to guide and influence decision making
- Support bids and pricing activities, ensuring financial considerations are embedded in proposals
- Document and enforce key project accounting processes to ensure compliance and consistency
- Engage with and support external and customer audits
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes and reporting frameworks
- Contribute to finance system improvement initiatives and workplace change projects
- Manage and coach a small team, setting clear expectations and supporting development plans
Candidate Profile
You will be a highly capable finance professional with proven experience in project financial management and the ability to influence, partner and advise at senior levels. You combine technical expertise with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and can thrive in a complex environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting, with full CA/CPA/CIMA membership
- Demonstrated experience in project financial management and/or pricing and cost allocation
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights
- Proven stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with resilience in a fast-moving environment
- Experience in Defence, ERP systems, or earned value techniques is desirable
