About The Role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing leadership in the delivery of project management consulting services.
Duties And Skills Involved
Coordinating and managing all aspects of building project implementation activities including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration and post-construction activities, and ensuring the building product delivered to the client meets quality expectations.
Coordinating the activities of other project staff, external consultants, building contractors, managers and other business units to achieve project objectives.
Providing a high level of contract coordination for traditional and non-traditional contract systems.
Ensuring projects are managed to meet the client's scope, time, cost, cash-flow, quality requirements and QBuild profitability targets; interacting with clients on a day-to-day basis.
Engaging and coordinating project team members (external or QBuild staff) involved in pre-design, documentation, contract administration and post-construction services.
Leading negotiations with consultants, local authorities, internal and departmental stakeholders, the client and contractors to identify and deliver value-for-money solutions and manage stakeholders appropriately.
Controlling variances by generating exception reports on time and cost aspects, and performing project audits to assess team performance as appropriate.
Assisting the Principal Project Leader/Senior Project Manager to determine attainable fees for services and, where necessary, generate approvals for client billing.
Ensuring quality assurance procedures are followed and mentoring a team of Project Managers and other staff.
Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of staff.
Additional desirable requirements:
A relevant tertiary qualification (for example, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning or Quantity Surveyor) would be highly regarded.
