Fixed Plant Fitter (Goldfields Region)
FMR Investments is seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Fitter for our Gold processing facility in the Goldfields region. This is a permanent full-time role, working 10 hour shifts on a 9 days on / 5 days off roster.
SUMMARY OF ROLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Fixed Plant Fitter you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing processing equipment, ensuring continuous production, safety and efficiency.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps and other fixed plant equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, conduct fault diagnosis and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
Assist with the installation, alignment and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
Carry out shutdown work, including rebuilds, component replacements and inspections.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, actively participate in safety meetings and risk assessments.
Complete daily maintenance tasks and support other maintenance or plant tasks as required.
Maintain high standards of safety, performance and teamwork.
Equipment, Machinery, Systems & Tools
Crushers (jaw, cone), SAG and ball mills, pumps (centrifugal, gland water, positive displacement), conveyors, screens, valves, gearboxes, shafts, agitators.
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, hoists, jacks, hand and power tools, and CMMS (Pronto).
Administrative Documentation & Reporting
Accurately complete work orders, service records and inspections in the CMMS.
Report equipment defects, hazards and maintenance requirements.
Record time, parts used and tasks completed for audits and maintenance reviews.
Health, Safety, Compliance & Communication
Adhere to all company policies, environmental standards and site procedures (including the WHS Act & Regulations).
Communicate effectively and complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
Conduct routine inspections to identify and control hazards.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Trade experience in mechanical fitting, with preventative and corrective maintenance.
Exposure to fixed plant equipment, shutdowns and fault diagnosis.
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, follow procedures and work independently.
Experience in gold or base-metal processing plants.
Familiarity with CMMS systems such as Pronto or SAP.
High-Risk Work Licences, Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications.
Education / Qualifications / Licences
Australian-recognised Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting.
Current C-class manual driver's licence.
Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
Knowledge of mechanical safety and isolation procedures in a mining/processing environment.
Further trade or technical qualifications.
Previous experience mentoring apprentices or junior tradespeople.
