LEADING HAND / FOREMAN – PATHWAY TO MANAGEMENT - BDS CHINCILLA
BDS Mechanical offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand or Foreman looking to advance their career within a large, privately owned business. This position is designed as a direct pathway to management. In this role, you will gain hands-on leadership experience by supervising our Chinchilla team, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are met. You will work closely with the area manager, and through training will develop the decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills required for a successful transition into a Workshop Manager role.
BDS Mechanical Repairs is a growing, family-owned business offering mechanical, auto electrical, and welding repair services, both in-house and on-site. With 22 fully equipped workshop locations throughout Queensland and a fleet of over 160 field service units, our team covers more than 600,000 km² across Queensland and Western Australia. The successful candidate will possess the following:
* Foreman/Leading hand experience
* Relevant trade qualification
* Experience in light and heavy vehicles
* Supervisor / leading hand experience a bonus
* HR license a bonus
* Strong communication skills
* Good people management skills
* Ability to manage all aspects of the business effectively
* Great workshop, mechanical and diagnostic knowledge
The Job:
* Coordinate field service mechanics
* Working on trucks, trailers and LV's
* Source and order parts when needed
* Work closely with upper management to develop required skills for career advancement
* Check off time sheets
* Overlook and correct job cards
* Monitor emails
* Forward on time sheets for pay day to accounts
* Forward on completed job cards for invoicing
* Control A/H breakdowns and roster
