The Town has a dynamic future and we are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Development Engineer to join our skilled team in a full-time capacity.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Principal Traffic and Design Coordinator, the position provides engineering guidance, compliance and approvals for development and subdivision works in the Town. You will be responsible for working constructively with community members, internal Business Units, Developers and other state agencies in the coordination of land development activities.
What you'll need to succeed
* Degree in Civil Engineering desirable or minimum post tertiary qualification in related technical field, including significant experience in a similar role.
* Promote and produce sustainable engineering solutions for the Town's infrastructure assets that align with the Town's Strategic Community Plan.
* High level knowledge of Australian Standards, AustRoads/Main Roads WA/ IPWEA Guidelines for Subdivisional Development, ARR Guidelines and other guidelines relating to Civil Engineering Design and Transportation Planning.
* High level understanding and experience in land development and associated planning approvals
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in a similar role working within the Local/State Government sector is highly desirable.
* High level understanding of road construction methodologies and engineering approvals relating to earthworks, drainage, pathways, lighting, utility servicing, pavements, and other public assets.
* High level understanding and experience in the interpretation of engineering drawings, detailed planning and asset handover requirements.
