About The Opportunity: An opportunity exists for a Perioperative Services Manager to join the team at John Fawkner Private Hospital on a full-time basis and take on a leadership position within our perioperative department. Your clinical skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and positive approach to work will ensure your success in this role.

The Hospital has an established reputation as a leading healthcare provider, specialising in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery and Cancer, and providing a comprehensive range of onsite medical and surgical services with the highest standard in care. It is the largest private hospital with the only private 24 hr Emergency Department and Critical Care unit in northwestern Melbourne, working with highly skilled visiting specialists who offer subspecialty expertise. John Fawkner Private Hospital has a long-established tradition for providing quality healthcare to our local community, the veteran community and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.
Responsibilities
As a Perioperative Services Manager, Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Coordination and allocation of staff
* Oversees the day-to-day operations in theatre
* Understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN and Sterilisation standards
* Knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality/Risk management
* Ensure workplace health and safety guidelines and policies are met
* Manage Budgets and attainment of budgetary targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Maintaining effective relationship with major stakeholders
* Ensure Theatre is run ethically and complies with policies, procedures and all legal requirements
Essential Criteria
* Authority to Work in Australia
* Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
* Post Graduate Qualifications in Perioperative Nursing, Business and/or Management (or working towards)
* Minimum of 5 years senior nursing experience within the Perioperative unit
* Experience looking after a minimum of 5 theatres
* High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
* Working with children check
* Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
