The Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist will deliver high-quality, Therapy services to children and their families. Working as a sub-contractor, the practitioner will support children with developmental, behavioural, or social-emotional needs to build functional skills, increase independence, and enhance overall wellbeing. The role requires a child-centred, evidence-informed approach that fosters team-oriented relationships with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Services for Allied Health Collaboration:
- Functional Behaviour Assessments that help contextualise communication, sensory, cognitive, and emotional needs.
- Comprehensive and interim NDIS Behaviour Support Plans aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
- Collaborative case planning and joint sessions with Speech, OT, and Psychology teams where appropriate.
- Parent, carer, and educator coaching to reinforce therapeutic strategies across environments.
- Strengths-based, low-demand, child-led approaches that respect each discipline’s methodology.
Bridge to Understanding works closely with allied health teams across the North and North-West of Tasmania, ensuring behaviour support integrates seamlessly with communication supports, sensory processing frameworks, emotional regulation strategies, and broader developmental goals. Their focus is on building shared understanding, reducing barriers to participation, and supporting children to thrive in home, community, school, and therapeutic settings.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications in OT, Speech Therapy or Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in the industry
- Strong understanding of child development, behaviour principles, and family-centred practice.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive rapport with children and caregivers.
- Current Working with Vulnerable Persons Card.
