About the opportunity:
The purpose of the position is to enable Registered Nurses enrolled in an Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) accredited postgraduate midwifery program to gain clinical experience in a maternity setting, within a partnership model of supervision, in support of their theoretical learning.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the requirements of the training programme including the midwifery experience is required.
2 x positions will commence in April 2026 & 2 x positions will commence July 2026.

Salary range: $41.73 to $53.53 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity
The midwifery student will work in partnership with the midwife to provide a safe environment for women and babies by:
Assisting the midwife to complete delegated responsibilities as outlined in the midwifery course curriculum.
Working with a preceptor/mentor within the workplace to develop personally and professionally.
Maintaining a safe environment for self and others in the workplace.

Qualification:
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. - 12 months post graduate Registered Nurse experience (evidence to be provided)
Acceptance, or ability to apply, for a suitable Postgraduate midwifery university program - Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
