About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and adaptable retail leader to join RSPCA Queensland as an Op Shop Floating Manager.
What We're Looking For
You're an experienced retail leader who can confidently step into different environments and make an immediate positive impact. You know how to lead teams, drive performance and maintain strong operational standards while creating a welcoming and supportive store culture.
You're proactive, solutions-focused and highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to changing operational needs. You're equally comfortable supporting day‐to‐day store operations, coaching team members or jumping onto the shop floor during busy periods.
Most importantly, you bring a collaborative and people‐focused approach and are passionate about supporting a purpose‐driven organisation that makes a real difference.
What You'll Do
* Step into stores and assume full Store Manager responsibilities when required.
* Provide operational stability and leadership during vacancies, leave periods or times of change.
* Support stores to achieve strong customer service, sales and operational outcomes.
* Coach and support staff and volunteers to maintain a positive and engaged team culture.
* Assist underperforming stores through hands‐on operational support and guidance.
* Manage rosters, timesheets, store administration and day‐to‐day retail operations.
* Oversee POS operations, cash handling, reconciliations and banking processes.
* Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, store presentation and stock flow.
* Ensure compliance with RSPCA Queensland policies, procedures and WHS requirements.
* Build positive relationships with customers, donors, volunteers and local stakeholders.
* Travel across the Op Shop network to support stores where needed.
What You'll Bring to the Role
* Minimum 5 years' experience in retail, including store management or senior leadership responsibility.
* Strong experience managing end‐to‐end retail operations including sales performance, merchandising, stock management and store presentation.
* Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams, including paid staff and volunteers.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive sales through pricing, merchandising and promotional activity.
* Sound understanding of retail operations, financial controls and store administration.
* High level of accuracy and integrity in cash handling and POS operations.
* Confidence using retail systems, computers and Microsoft Office programs.
* Strong organisational, communication and decision‐making skills.
* Ability to adapt quickly and confidently across different store environments.
* Flexible availability and willingness to travel regularly between store locations.
* Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks.
* Alignment with RSPCA Queensland's mission, values and commitment to animal welfare.
