Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, you’ll take responsibility for the full finance function - playing a critical role in supporting the organisation in a dynamic and evolving environment.

About the Opportunity
As our Finance Officer, you’ll be a trusted member of the business, ensuring the day-to-day financial operations run smoothly, accurately, and on time.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident in their technical ability, takes pride in ownership, and can adapt in a fast‑paced setting. Your work will underpin the financial stability and performance of the organisation - making you a vital part of our success.
Your responsibilities will include:
* End to end financial management including:
o Accounts receivable and payable
o Banking and credit cards
o Payroll processing
* Maintaining finance files and finance related policies and procedures, including monitoring of employee leave process and balances.
* End of year processes, audit and financial statements.
* Budgeting and forecasting including variance analysis and reconciliations.
* Membership reconciliations and renewal processing.
Accountability is central to this role. You’ll be responsible for keeping accounts accurate, compliant, and running to schedule — particularly around critical end-of-month deadlines.
About You
You are an enthusiastic finance officer or bookkeeper who wants your skills to contribute to the sustainability of Townsville Enterprise and the future of the North Queensland region.
You bring:
* Proficiency with accounting and business systems, and the confidence to quickly learn organisational software
* Experience across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, superannuation and BAS
* Sound knowledge of accounting standards, principles and practices
* Strong numerical literacy and exceptional attention to detail
* The ability to juggle priorities and manage deadlines effectively

Essential Requirements
* Qualifications in and/or demonstrated accounting, bookkeeping and payroll management skills,
* Numerical literacy and financial accounting experience.
* Proficiency with accounting and business systems with an aptitude to learn standard organisational software.
* Experience in accounts receivable and payable, payroll, superannuation and BAS.
* Current driver’s licence
