About the Role:
We are searching for a reliable and motivated Inventory & Logistics Officer to support the operations across inventory control, logistics, warehousing, purchasing, and distribution. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. Reporting to the Inventory Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of goods while maintaining accurate inventory records and high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
* Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet stackers, and other material handling equipment (with license) in accordance with operating manual and after checks conducted.
* Safely Load and unload trucks, ensuring all logistics tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with Chain of Responsibility/Load Restraint guidelines.
* Distribute incoming goods and deliver to various divisions and departments in a timely manner.
* Accurately draw, allocate, and deliver stock to operational areas as requested.
* Operate and record all stock movement through the E1 Inventory Management System. Monitor aspects of inventory stock control. Conduct cycle counts and assist with stocktakes.
* Ensure materials are correctly packed away and easily traceable in storage.
* Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs for rectification.
* Support Inventory Co-ordinator in training new personnel
* Ensure seamless coordination and communication with all other divisions to support effective logistics operations.
* Assist with delivery and pick up of goods ordered externally.
* General housekeeping of goods received to yard, store & general work areas.
* Raise Purchase Order Requests for new goods to be approved.
Ideal Background
* 12t Forklift Licence, Motor Vehicle Licence, Use of stackers, scissor lifts.
* 3+ years' experience in heavy equipment industries ie. Terminal, marine, dredging, manufacturing, plant & equipment, earthmoving.
* 3+ years' experience in transport vehicle loading & unloading, including Load Restraint experience.
* General understanding and experience in Yard/Terminal/Warehousing duties.
* Experienced in computer procurement systems with purchasing & inventory.
* Suitably trained and experienced in computer programs – Word, Excel & Outlook.
* Certificate II/III in Warehousing, Logistics highly regarded.
