The opportunity
Join our team and contribute to the World-Class Airborne Early Warning and Control capabilities of the E7A Wedgetail from our Brisbane office for our esteemed Australian defence customer. We are on the lookout for a skilled Systems Administrator to ensure the effective maintenance of ground systems and the seamless integration of any changes in a controlled manner. Due to the nature of this position, there is very limited ability to work from home or other sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a small team onsite performing administration of systems supporting our Brisbane labs
- Collaborate with various design and specialty disciplines (including software, hardware, safety, security, and support systems engineering) to ensure proper integration of products into the overall solution, meeting customer needs
- Consult with project teams to ensure that the engineering scope aligns with sustainment requirements
- Work with Boeing and industry partners to align BDA work methods with best practices
- Utilize your expertise to troubleshoot issues within the products effectively
- Perform standard system administration tasks, including password resets, software updates, and equipment replacements
- Compile and submit monthly security vulnerability reports, promptly reporting any changes that may affect device risk profiles
- Maintain service patches, antivirus, firewall, software, and drivers in accordance with SOPs to enhance cybersecurity
- Oversee system access control, configuration, backup and recovery, user account management, and data transfers, including classified data exports
- Review and verify data export classifications to ensure compliance with protective marking and logging requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Manager
Experience/Qualifications
Essential:
- A Certificate IV in IT or equivalent is preferred, covering hardware, networking, software, applications, web, cybersecurity, troubleshooting; or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years Systems Administrator experience
- Proven experience in technical problem solving
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements for NV2 security clearance
Desirable:
- Experience with specific systems such as Red Hat or Cisco is beneficial, but versatility in IT knowledge is prioritized
- Windows, Linux and VMware systems design and administration
- Experience in delivering/integrating systems within Defence project environments
- Experience with complex communications systems deployed in challenging environments
- An understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management with experience in Systems Engineering and/or systems integration in a complex project environment essential
- A current NV1 or NV2 security clearance
