Headquartered in Brisbane, Aurizon plays a critical role in supporting Australia by transporting commodities and essential goods connecting miners, primary producers and industry with international and domestic markets. This role sits within Aurizon's Financial Reporting team and provides an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant to develop their career within a large, complex listed environment.
This position will play an important role supporting financial reporting, treasury accounting and technical accounting processes across the Group.
About the Role
Responsibilities will include:
* Supporting month end processes including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
* Assisting with statutory reporting and external audit processes, including working closely with external auditors to coordinate reviews
* Working closely with the Treasury team to support treasury accounting including debt and hedging related reporting and disclosures
* Contributing to improvements in financial reporting processes and systems
* Assisting with financial accounting activities across fixed assets, investments and balance sheet reporting
What We're Looking For
This role would suit a technically strong accountant looking to build their career within a large ASX-listed environment.
You will likely bring:
* CA / CPA qualification or working towards completion
* 3–5 years' experience, ideally within Big 4 / mid-tier audit or a technical accounting role
* Strong financial accounting and reporting fundamentals
* Interest or exposure to treasury accounting, debt instruments or hedging
* Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
* A proactive mindset and ability to work within a collaborative team environment
