Our organization offers a unique opportunity for a skilled Blender/Forklift Driver to join our team in the chemical manufacturing sector.
We have over 50 years of experience providing services including manufacturing, packaging, and logistics to our customers.
The role involves full-time work from Monday to Friday with set hours:
Mondays to Thursdays: 6:45 am - 3:15 pm
Fridays: 6:45 am - 12:45 pm
Apart from adhering to standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines, the following are essential:
Wearing safety shoes and long pants is required.
Cotton Hi-Vi's will be provided.
Regular breaks include morning tea, lunch, and an afternoon break.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Measure and combine raw materials accurately according to specified formulas or recipes to create various chemical products.
* Manual handling of class 3, 6, and 8 dangerous goods is involved. Lifting loads between 22kgs - 25kgs is required.
* Operating blending equipment such as mixers, reactors, or agitators is necessary to ensure proper mixing and blending of chemicals.
* Monitor blending processes closely to maintain product quality, consistency, and adherence to safety standards.
* Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure blends meet established specifications and standards.
* Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or process deviations to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
* Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on blending equipment to prevent contamination and ensure optimal performance.
* Maintain accurate records of blending processes, including batch records, inventory levels, and production logs.
* Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks associated with handling hazardous chemicals and operating machinery.
* Collaborate with supervisors, quality control personnel, and other team members to communicate issues, improvements, and recommendations related to blending processes.
About You:
* Strong understanding of chemical properties, reactions, and safety protocols is crucial.
* Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, particularly in roles involving chemical handling, blending, or processing, is beneficial.
* Proficiency in operating blending equipment and understanding manufacturing processes is important.
* A strong commitment to safety is vital due to the potential hazards associated with working with chemicals.
* Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with team members, following instructions, and documenting processes accurately.
* Chemical blenders may be required to lift heavy containers, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks. Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are advantageous.
* Good troubleshooting skills are desired.
