PRIMARY DETAIL - Location: Macquarie University (Dharug land), North Ryde - Employment Type: Ongoing, part-time position (21 hours per week) THE ROLE We are seeking a part-time Junior Science Academy Outreach Coordinator to j oin our passionate and supportive team to coordinate and deliver fun, inclusive and hands-on STEAM experiences. Your role involves managing the logistics of delivering high-quality outreach programs, working collaboratively with the team to develop and refin e program content, and support in the delivery of engaging and inclusive learning experiences across the range of JSA programs. You will work closely with our team to build relationships and collaborate with university partners, developing programs that cater to diverse student needs from a wide range of backgrounds. You will play a key role in coordinating outreach programs, such as the JSA for kids who are Deaf and H ard-of- H earing kids or Blind and Low vision, School Incursions, Community Events e.g. Astronomy Open Night, and more Work on our vibrant University Campus with additional opportunities to travel for programs delivered at schools, and other inspiring locations off campus. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of educational programs for children while supporting the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is a permanent, part-time position (22.8 hours per week). Availability on Wednesdays is essential. Flexibility on other workdays and the distribution of hours over 3–5 days may be considered for the right candidate. ABOUT YOU We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with a passion for STEAM education and child development. In this role, you will: • Coordinate and deliver engaging STEAM programs both on and off-site • Manage program logistics, including bookings, staffing, and resource preparation • Collaborate with internal teams to support the planning and delivery of JSA programs and events • Assist in the development and maintenance of lesson plans and educational content • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including schools and community partners • Lead, support, and provide guidance to casual educators and university students • Respond to enquiries from families, schools, and partners with professionalism and care • Ensure compliance with child protection, WHS, and EEO policies in all program activities HOW TO APPLY To apply, submit your CV and a cover letter addressing the key selection criteria listed above. Essential selection criteria : Tertiary qualification in Education or extensive experience in a relevant field. A demonstrated interest in STEAM and its application in educational settings. Experience working with children and understanding of child development. An understanding of Child Protection Laws and application of best practice in child safety principles Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, families, and a range of stakeholders. Excellent organisational and time-management skills to prioritise tasks and deliver results effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy.
