The Hospitality Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Club’s hospitality operations, including food and beverage service, gaming, and events. This role ensures exceptional member and guest experiences while maintaining strong operational controls, compliance, and staff engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Hospitality & Gaming Operations
* Oversee all food and beverage operations across bistro service, bars, functions, and events
* Oversee all gaming operation requirements
* Ensure consistent, high-quality service standards and presentation
* Work collaboratively with the Head Chef/Event Chef on menus, service delivery, and event execution
* Monitor and control labour costs, stock levels, wastage, and ordering
* Ensure compliance with all food safety, liquor licensing, OH&S, and regulatory requirements in line with governing bodies
Staff Leadership & Development
* Lead, train, roster, and manage hospitality staff, including casual and part-time team members
* Foster a positive, professional, and team-focused workplace culture
* Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and support
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels for regular and major events
Events & Functions
* Oversee hospitality delivery for club events, private functions, corporate bookings, and community groups
* Work closely with the Events & Marketing Coordinator and General Manager to ensure seamless event execution
* Manage service timelines, staffing, and on-the-day hospitality logistics
* Contribute to improving event processes and guest experience outcomes
Member & Guest Experience
* Act as a key point of contact for member feedback and service enquiries
* Build strong relationships with members, volunteers, committees, and regular guests
* Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the hospitality offering and overall club experience
Administration & Reporting
* Manage hospitality budget in conjunction with the General Manager
* Report on operational performance, staffing, and service outcomes
* Assist with supplier relationships, pricing reviews, and service improvements
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Proven experience in hospitality management, ideally within a club, hotel, or similar environment
* Strong leadership and people-management skills
* Excellent customer service and communication abilities
* Sound knowledge of food & beverage operations and compliance requirements
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Desirable
* Experience in a golf, bowls, or members-based club environment
* Event and function management experience
* Current RSA, RSG and Food Safety certifications
