The Opportunity
We now have an amazing opportunity to be PARTT of something meaningful. As a key member of our Care Services team, you will play a hands-on role supporting participants in our SIL Accommodation homes.
Successful candidates will bring demonstrated experience working with individuals with mental health care needs.
Key Duties Include:
* Medication administration
* Home Based Daily Living Support
* Taking participants for appointments and other community participation
* Behaviour observation and support
* Meal preparation and shopping assistance
* Maintaining a record of participant progress
* Assessing participants to determine continuing needs
* Assistance in building participant self-image and self-confidence
* Manual Handling of participants
* Availability to cover a range of shifts including sleepovers and weekends
This participant requires 24-hour care so a variety of shifts will be available.
Remuneration: $35- $38 + Penalties when applicable + Superannuation
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking experienced, capable support workers with a background supporting challenging clients.
The successful candidates will have:
* Own vehicle for transport with comprehensive insurance
* Ability to work varied shifts
* Certificate III or IV in Disability, Ageing or related industries highly regarded
* Experience with Mental Health Clients highly regarded
* Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
* Current National Police Clearance
* Current QLD Unrestricted Driver's License
* Current Working with Children Check/ Blue Card
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check/ Yellow Card
Due to participant requirements, we can only consider candidates who meet the below requirements in this instance:
* Ability to communicate clearly in both spoken and written English
* Experienced or comfortable and knowledgeable with restrictive practice guidelines and Positive Behaviour Support Plans
* Demonstrated experience in mental health client support
* Candidates with First Nations heritage highly regarded
